Peter is currently working for the WCN as a Conservation Initiatives Director, which includes duties such as coordinating the Lion Recovery Fund. Additionally, he is a research affiliate at the Mammal Research Institute of the University of Pretoria. In the past he worked as the policy coordinator of the Lion Program of Panthera and as an Independent consultant. He has also conducted Field research in the Save Valley Conservancy, Zimbabwe and in Laikipia, Kenya.
