Born in Kenya, Gitahi has been exposed to the natural world since he was an infant, perceiving it as a reservoir of inspiration. Nature is a recurring motif in his artwork. "it consumes me." He has said. "I have been surrounded by intelligent and fascinating creatures all my life." He addresses the theme of symbiosis with candour, accustomed to the diversity of nature- the micro and the macro world as well as modernisation, in his film. Gitahi is a Social Science major at the African Leadership University in Mauritius, and passionate and self-taught filmmaker.
